From Mocaverse to Moca Network. Are you following close enough?

Welcome to the very first post on Moca Academy, your go-to hub for all things Moca Network. Let’s kick things off with a quick TL;DR of how we evolved, and more importantly, why it matters:

Key Takeaways for MocaFam (and soon-to-be MocaFam):

  • Mocaverse began as a membership NFT project and evolved into a movement around user-owned identity and verifiable credentials—while staying true to its goals of empowering user-owned data..
  • We battle-tested that vision with AIR ID, proving that identity isn’t just about assets—it’s about action and reputation.
  • We’re now scaling that into real-world infrastructure for both Web3 and Web2 through Moca 3.0 and AIR Kit
  • This isn’t theoretical. It’s live, with real-world adoption like OK Cashbag, Korea’s largest loyalty app, integrating AIR ID to transform user engagement into onchain reputation.

From Membership NFTs to Meaningful Identity

Mocaverse originally launched as an NFT collection for the Animoca Brands ecosystem, giving holders access to drops, allowlists, and alpha. But what made it special wasn’t just the perks—it was the identity signal. Your Moca NFT was your badge, your vibe, your values. The PFP you chose said something about you—your tribe, your aesthetic, your on-chain personality. In many ways, NFTs were the first scalable format of Web3 identity. They let you show who you are, not just what you own. That insight laid the foundation for what became AIR ID.

From identity to credentials. From credentials to reputation.

By late 2023, we doubled down on the idea of user-centric identity with the launch of AIR Kit and ID. It wasn’t just another wallet login—it was the first proof-of-concept for our decentralized identity layer. One that transforms every meaningful user action—joining a DAO, completing a quest, staking in a protocol—into a verifiable, privacy-preserving credential. Rather than rewarding wallet size or snapshot farmers, we began rewarding real engagement: completing missions, supporting projects, referring friends. These behaviors became credentials. And those credentials became reputation.

We began the journey with Moca ID—the first AIR ID native to our platform. Thousands of users claimed and began building a single and portable identity that moved with them across dApps and platforms. What started as a simple on-chain identity evolved into the connective tissue of a more personalized and interoperable Web3. Every interaction became a building block. And most importantly, you controlled it.

Moca 3.0: Building the Internet’s Identity Network

With AIR Kit—our toolkit for Accounts, Identity, and Reputation—we’re scaling AIR ID into real infrastructure. Builders can now embed universal accounts, create dynamic reputation systems, and design identity-powered experiences across Web3 and Web2. It’s all part of a broader decentralized digital identity infrastructure that helps applications leverage onchain credentials without ever compromising on user privacy or ownership. The identity economy has begun. And your identity? It’s yours.

Real-World Proof: OK Cashbag x Moca

In South Korea, SK Planet (behind OK Cashbag, the nation’s largest loyalty app) is using AIR Kit to connect Web2 loyalty activity to onchain identity.

Users earn AIR IDs through everyday actions, which evolve into reputation profiles that unlock token rewards, exclusive quests, and more. It’s a live example of how identity bridges ecosystems—and turns behavior into value.

What’s Next?

More partners. More credentials. More use cases.

With products like MocaList, MocaDrop, and AIR Kit, you can now own, store, and activate their identity across the open internet.

Whether you’re a builder, creator, or user—your identity is now your superpower.

Mocaverse is no longer just a community. It’s becoming the identity layer of Web3—designed to help you own your credentials, control your data, and unlock a more human internet.
